Role and function of Cochrane Rehabilitation
Cochrane is a global independent network of researchers, professionals, patients, carers, and people interested in health with the mission to promote evidence-informed health decision-making. The Cochrane fields are groups which focus on a dimension of health care other than a specific healthcare problem such as the setting of care, the type of consumer, the type of provider, the type of intervention, or a major division of healthcare.
Knowledge Translation: the bridging function of Cochrane Rehabilitation
It is always difficult to apply in everyday life what we think we would like to do and this is even more true for the application of scientific knowledge. This phenomenon is called the “know-do gap”. One of the main reasons is that evidence is usually not focused on (or written for) the consumers (1).
