Mentor. Discover. Lead.
The Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) is an organization of physiatry professionals who are dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the speciality through research and education. Physiatry, also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), is a medical speciality that emphasizes the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of people disabled by disease, disorder, or injury. It is one of the newer subspecialty areas of medicine that manages a diversity of conditions involving the nervous and musculoskeletal systems and focuses on function, independence, and quality of life. The AAP's mission is to expand the world of academic physiatry through mentorship, leadership, and discovery. From resources such as our “Virtual Campus” to medical student programs and academic leadership training, the AAP continues to provide the invaluable tools needed for the next generation of physiatrists to succeed. Don’t miss our Annual Meeting in beautiful Orlando, Florida, US, in February 2024. Visit www.physiatry.org to learn more about the latest at the AAP. The future of physiatry happens here.
