Since the beginning the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) has always shown a great support to Cochrane Rehabilitation. Last May in Buenos Aires during the 11th ISPRM Congress a series of events involving Cochrane Rehabilitation took place.
A scientific session dedicated to Cochrane Rehabilitation, introduced by the Director of Cochrane Argentina, Augustin Ciapponi, and followed by lectures from Stefano Negrini, Cochrane rehabilitation Director, William Levack, Reviews Committee Chair, and Frane Grubišić, Publication Committee Chair was held. To Chair the session there were ISPRM President, Jorge Laìns, and Cochrane Rehabilitation Coordinator, Carlotte Kiekens. Moreover, Stefano Negrini was invited as keynote speaker on the topic “Accelerating Knowledge to practice: evidence we can trust". The power point presentations are available on our website.
The first meeting of the Cochrane Rehabilitation Advisory Board was held during the Congress. Many rehabilitation Stakeholders and experts from different parts of the world met for the first time, expressing their congratulations for the launch and the work performed by all the members of Cochrane Rehabilitation. After an introduction from Stefano Negrini and Carlotte Kiekens, all the participants exposed their thoughts and suggestions for the development of Cochrane Rehabilitation.
Last but not least a Memorandum of Understanding between Cochrane Rehabilitation and ISPRM was signed at the Assembly of Delegates. This will ensure collaboration between the two Organizations in projects of mutual interest supporting the development of PRM worldwide and aiming to optimize the treatment of patients with disability.
ISPRM President Jorge Laíns said, “Cochrane Rehabilitation can always count on ISPRM support as ISPRM is available, capable, and eager to collaborate! One of the roles of Cochrane Rehabilitation is the promotion of evidences in rehabilitation. ISPRM commits to promote the work of Cochrane Rehabilitation within the partner organisations and help Cochrane Rehabilitation to look for experts capable to contribute to its agenda and goals”.
