Società Italiana di Fisioterapia (SIF) is an association founded in 2010, committed to the promotion of scientific activities in the field of Physiotherapy. Its purpose is to promote the dissemination of clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice, taking any initiative deemed appropriate to achieve these objectives. SIF working groups are engaged in pursuing the aims of the Society through several initiatives, including:
- Support scientific research activities in all areas of Physiotherapy through activation of calls aimed at launching research projects and participation in events by young researchers;
- Development of initiatives aimed at spreading the scientific foundations of Physiotherapy, stimulating the knowledge and widening evidence-based guidelines and practices;
- Collaboration with other national and international scientific societies, universities, ministries of health, regions, health institutions, and public and private institutions;
- Development of the Archives of Physiotherapy journal (formerly the Italian Journal of Physiotherapy), founded by SIF in 2010 and indexed on PubMed since 2018, that soon will be examined to obtain indexing on the main international databases, Scopus and Web of Science;
- Creation of the MeasuReIT database, which collects hundreds of validated measuring instruments in the Italian language in the rehabilitation field.
SIF is open to collaborating with anyone who shares the universal principles of Scientific Research, toward the goal of acquiring new elements of knowledge through an evidence-based approach.
