Cochrane is a global independent network of researchers, professionals, patients, carers, and people interested in health with a mission to promote evidence based decision-making in healthcare. Within that collaborative network, the Cochrane Fields focus on dimensions of health care other than specific health problems - such as setting of care, type of consumers, types of providers, types of interventions, and/or major divisions of healthcare.

In everyday life it is always difficult to apply what we would like to do. This is even more true for the application of scientific knowledge which can be due to a phenomenon known as the “know-do gap” that con occur whet the evidence is not focused on (or written for) the consumers1.

Dr Carlotte Kiekens, Cochrane Rehabilitation Coordinator, was awarded by the Belgian Society for Neurorehabilitation with the Luc Van Calster Prize.

During April 6th - 8th it took place in Pisa (Italy) the XVII National Congress of the Italian Society of Neuro-Rehabilitation (SIRN). SIRN is one of the scientific societies that expressed their support to Cochrane Rehabilitation and that are willing to collaborate in increasing the knowledge on EBM in the field of Neuro-Rehabilitation.

A symposium on Cochrane Rehabilitation was held at the 26th Reha-Kolloquium or Deutscher Kongress für Rehabilitationsforschung. The Conference took place at the Goethe University in Frankfurt on March 20th - 22nd, 2017. The symposium was organized by Prof. Thorsten Meyer co-chair of the Cochrane Rehabilitation Methodology Committee and member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Rehabilitationswissenschaften (DGRW).
